How will international relations be under President Obama?

Posted on March 10th, 2010 by admin in relations | 3 Comments »

From his inaugural speech, Obama puts a lot of ideals and values in international relations. His indicated that he will talk to anyone (dictators, Iran or whatever) but they need to unclench their fists! One thing strikes me. That’s how does China fits in that statement! Are we going to see more tensions between China and US?

By the looks of things, international relations will improve significantly now that Obama is in power. That wasn’t the case during Bush’s tenure; it’s the complete opposite.

US-China relations could get worse

China is urging the US government to cancel plans for President Barack Obama to meet next week with Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. Chinese-US relations have already deteriorated over Taiwan, electronic security, and now with the potential economic threat by China. This meeting means relations between the two countries are going to get even worse. The White House yesterday confirmed that President Obama will meet the Dalai Lama on February 18, despite China’s objections.

What do you think is the affect of the Obama administration on race relations?

Posted on March 8th, 2010 by admin in relations | 5 Comments »

Do you think that because America now has a Black president, race relations are bound to improve? Do you think it could divide people even further? Or do you think race relations will only stay the same?

Obama’s presidency brings some things, in terms of race relations, out into the open – reminding us how racist America still really is. Take that big anti-Obama rally they held in DC a few days ago – swimming with Dixie flags – those people have not been created by Obama’s presidency, they’re just squirming and feel so threatened that they have to show their ugly faces to the world! So things look uglier, in a way – but I think this is a sign of (slow) improvement, as things that are out in the open can be addressed and dealt with more easily than those that are hidden or buried. We’ve got a long way to go – but we also have a good, genuine person in office who is trying to do the right thing – and the matter of his racial background did not prevent that from happening!

What is the difference on personal relations between China and America?

What is the difference on personal relations between China and America?
For example between bosses and employees, among peers, and so on.If you cnce lived or worked both in China and in America, your experience about personal relations is welcome.

Personal relations cover almost anything and everything. There are so many differences between these two countries that no person could list just all the priorities in this. One thing to show where each country is at now. In China many people in the worlds view, known people, have disappeared from their homes and families for only asking the Chinese government for a few rights for the people of China. They have not went out and killed anybody or tore anything up, they only ask their government for the people to have a little more breathing room. In the papers and on the internet around the world we read of the fear Chinese people have of their government and of going to a black jail for doing nothing wrong, only asking to be treated as human beings. In the countries of the EU and the US none of these people have any fear that you could compare in any way to the feelings of the Chinese. Many people say China and the US this and that. It is not really China and the US it is the communist government and the freely elected governments of the US and the EU that make the big difference in the way peoples personal relations are in their everyday living. If you look at all countries in the world the government of each is what separates the countries. North and South Korea, the people are the same but the two countries have different governments. One has mass starvation and nothing for its people while the other has a very good standard of living for its people. One will shoot any person who tries to leave the country the other has freedom for all the people to come and go as they wish.

What is the best way to heal race relations in the USA?

Posted on March 2nd, 2010 by admin in relations | 5 Comments »

Many White Americans always complain that African American leadership (Jesse Jackson, Al Shapton), are stirring up problems in American. How would you (a White American Person) bring better race relations in the America?
I have been in many conversations with my white friends or coworkers who have an opinion on race relations. They complain that African American leadership is trying to divide America and not bring African Americans into main stream society. I would ask this important question. What are you doing to bring race relations together in American? If you are not part of any organizations, any group or taking part in bring better race relations, then that person has nothing to say about it.
In other words, these individuals are nothing but an arm-chair coach. You can complain that a basketball/football coach is not doing his job. Yet if you switch places with that coach for a day or a month, then you would have a different perspective and would not be easily to criticize that coach.
Therefore, if you are actively in a some church, civil, education or any organization to bring better race relations, then you can critize the current African American leadership. I am not trying to start a riot or anything, but I seeking knowledge and understanding. My goal is to bring the better race relations to all Americans. I want to find a way to present or open the minds people without starting into a fight. That old saying goes “never talk about race, religion, or politics” Yet, if we do not talk about it, then how can any healing be done. In a nutshell, I want to open the minds of white America to the pains of racism and hatred. From past experience, those with closed minds will never open their minds to any thing new. For example, many people will not understand or feel another person’s pain until they get sick. NO PAIN, NO GAIN. .
I would like to present this question to white Americans. What would you do to bring better race relations in America?

Do away with race specific organizations. I’m talking about organizations such as, The Negro College Fund, Miss Black America, Jet, BET, and so on. These things galvanize many white people who are quite frankly so caught up in their own lives that they do not have time to worry about "race relations", but when it comes up, those are the things that strike them as odd for a people supposedly trying to be equal. Also please stop the talk of reparations. You were not a slave, and I never owned one.

What are the advantages of newspapers from a public relations perspective?

Posted on February 9th, 2010 by admin in relations | 1 Comment »

Need to get some advantages of newspapers from a public relations perspective, such as why newspapers are a good media outlet to getting a public relations message out to the public. We are debating in a public relations class which media outlets (newspapers, TV, radio, internet, etc.) are optimal for public relations, and I was assigned newspapers.

In TV and radio, detailed news cannot be conveyed. In Internet, you have to enter key words to search and read the article. But in news paper, you will have all the details completed printed. Another advantage of news paper is you can read at your leisure, any place (even in your toilet). You dont have to spend time for that. You can combine reading newspaper when having your coffee. This is an advantage. If you want to save some news, you can cut it and preserve. No problem or viruses.

If not I may choose something else???

Hello
The careers service in any prospective university would be a useful first contact point, as information regarding outcomes for previous international relations graduates should be available there. For a list of course providers (and contact details), see the UCAS website: http://ucas.com/students/coursesearch/).

You could also try the Prospects website – select international relations at http://www.prospects.ac.uk/cms/ShowPage/Home_page/Options_with_your_subject/p!eXbLc for detailed information under various headings including job options, career areas and case studies. Then select ‘job options’ for a list of jobs directly related to your degree and a list of jobs where your degree would be useful. It’s also worth having a look at ‘contacts and resources’ for a list of relevant professional bodies that may have further information.

An International Studies degree is also available through supported open learning with The Open University. For details, see http://www.open.ac.uk/ and http://www.open.ac.uk/you/ (information relevant to the increasing number of young students at the OU). Remember that you can apply to The OU alongside UCAS, effectively giving you extra choices.

Do allow some time for this research as you may see other links worth following up. I hope this answers your question and wish you every success in your future study and career planning.
