“In 93 percent of House of Representatives races and 94 percent of Senate races that had been decided by mid-day Nov. 5, the candidate who spent the most money ended up winning…” Just soak that up for the time being.

Please dont leave stupid comments like, “democracy is the dictatorship of the majority.” I’ll address this issue in my next video. Also, don’t assume what my positions is and then argue that position.

•How would a more demographically representative Congress affect policymaking? Take a look at the bills currently under consideration in Congress. How would the nature of these bills change if Congress was more representative? What new issues would be given priority over issues currently on the legislative agenda?

So if there were more white middle class men in congress, what would that change? I think they would lower taxes and spend less money on everything but defense.

Representative Government or Governance!

This is intended to provide the following:

* A group of individuals who were elected by the populace or people.

* And are expected to operate in the interests of those people who elected them.

Failing to do the latter. It would be imperative for the people or populace, have them or some of them removed, via the ballot or next election cycle.

I am running for 5th grade representative and need some tips.My speech I am planning to is:If I was representative, I would try my best.I am experienced in small business and sold items cheaper than discount stores while having much profit.I would try to listen to all recommendations and other things and would try my best to lower prices. I can’t promise i’d change anything though .Do you think I should do something different? What do you look for in a representative?

What i wish to suggest may be somewhat radical in your view but I think if we have to make our democracy truly effective and competitive, then we have to think " Out of Box " solutions. We should not have the provision of "One person one vote" . This system actually provides equal platform to both an illiterate and a college professor to decide about the choice of the government. This kind of system generates apathy in the minds of the learned and intelligentsia of the Society towards the electoral procedure. Also the system provides the politicians with the easy opportunities of luring their way to electoral success as the poor are easily lured by the monetary benefits. As the percentage of poor in our society is overwhelming and it proves to be decisive in the case of elections.

secondly, in any society the intelligentsia is far more understanding of the dynamics of the electoral politics and can make the politicians fulfill their promises, but the poor are only aware of their today and most of them don’t plan for their future. This also hampers the effectiveness of the representative democracy.

Representative democracy also promotes parochial feelings in a coalition form of governmental structure. It further hampers the pace of work in the governmental machinery.

is it not true that a representative government got us into this trouble in the first place?

The advantage of a representative government is participation from more than one point of view. It seeks to govern in the middle to gain a consensus taking into consideration the well being of the minority.
The disadvantage of representative government are the lines of accountability, where does the buck stop? Who is the man? Representative government is a bureaucracy. It is inefficient, long winded and fraught with fiefdoms and kingdoms; somewhere in the bowels of government is the solution. It’s a great idea.

Members for Student Representative Council are going be elected in my College. The Student Affairs Team will interview each candidate to select the right person.

Expected Questions:-

1. Why do you want to become a member of Student Council? What makes you a good fit?

2. If elected, how do you plan to serve students?

So please help me and come up with good ideas.
