If the military pays for my tuition why would I get a scholarship?

There are thousands of military scholarships out there so…..

Will that be extra cash for me or will it just take off what the military actually has to pay?

And i understand the military only pays a certain amount per year but being i’ll have a full time job with them I won’t be taking 15 hour semesters so the cost shouldn’t exceed that limit.
Ok so the scholarship is basically cash in my pocket?

    Hello Bobby,

Many people appreciate the service that military personnel give to our country. Thus, they use some of their earned profits to set up scholarships for military people.

This is "GOOD" even if you have the G.I. Bill to use mostly when you leave the military.

Currently, the military has a "policy" not a legislative entitlement that the military will pay 100% of the tuition for active duty people who are in service and taking college classes during their off-duty hours.

This is Good as it does not detract from your G.I. bill entitlement by law. But, what would happen if the Congress cuts the military budget like we hear such rhetoric floating out there from the Congress. Well, the military would have to look at where they have to cut out their expenses. College tuition programs could be suspended. Policies can be changed at any time.

So, having a private scholarship that a student can apply for is Good. With that money you can buy a great laptop computer, for instance. Or, you can purchase text books. Etc.

I have never heard that the military only pays a certain amount per year for tuition assistance. In any given semester the most college courses any person usually takes are two classes a semester. It is too difficult to take more than two and still give a full day’s military work and study after hours.

I was only able to take one college class per semester while performing my full time military duties.

So, if there is some sort of limit on how much money the military will pay for in-service tuition taking one college class per semester will not go over that amount.

If you can get a scholarship reserved for military people, fine. Use it to enhance your status as a college student.

    Best wishes,

    Hey dude,

Yeah that’s the great thing about the military. They basically just envelop you in money and throw it your way all the time. I would definitely look into those military scholarships though because, as that guy said, if Congress changes legislation on the G.I. Bill and your entire tuition isn’t funded then your screwed haha. However, like I said before, with all of those military lenders like militaryloans.com and such, it’d be pretty hard NOT to find money.
