Is it sexist to force men into mandatory military service?

In many countries around the world, men are forced into mandatory military service when they turn 18 while women are exempt and do not have to do anything. Not to mention in America males are made to register for military conscription if they ever bring it back or they lose certain privileges that women get for free. This seem very sexist against men. What do you think?

I do NOT think it is sexist. Men and women have Physical and Mental differences than women. We each have our strong and weak points .. things we excel at and well, suck at. Men aren’t necessarily the best emotionally communicative creatures on earth.. women aren’t necessarily the best warriors either. Its not to say that some men are extremely emotional and some women are Great warriors. Its just that we ARE different in our makeups.. by design (of God). When we keep trying to say men and women are exactly the same is where we get into trouble. Its NOT a unisex world. It is a world filled with men and women who are as different as night and day in the way they think and even process information. Men think logically and women think emotionally.

Now, all that being said.. Men mature slower than women. Men ARE more agressive than women, men are physically stronger than women. Men in combat can deal with pushing his buddies guts back into his body cavity and call for a corpsman while returning fire, sometimes he may have to put that same buddy, guts coming out and all over his shoulder and run for help. Not to say some women couldnt do this, but they are just not built nor designed for this. Mentally or Physically.

Since the beginning of time men have gone to war..OK, women too! But, predominately its been the males of society who provide, protect. It is women who are the nurturers, the mothers, grandmothers. Your question seems to be geared for a specific response, of which I am sure what I wrote will not fit. But no, in the end – it is NOT sexist against men to be required to go into military service. I think EVERY young man should serve at least 2 years, it would help them grow up!

I agree. Until girls stop acting like princesses this will continue.
They want exemption, they get it.

    Of course it’s sexist.
But if women were forced to register for military conscription, the feminists would cry sexism.
So our weak politicians won’t do what’s right because they might lose votes.

And in many countries young boys are forced to learn how to use guns. I’d like to see the draft brought back in and wonder how many men and women would actually sign up with a zealousness for their country. More likely they’d be in the streets protesting about the horror of war.
