What was his point? At first I thought he wanted the U.S. Military to focus on one area (or most importance/threat), but then it turned into an attack on the press. And what is this “treasure” he keeps refering to? For a Kennedy, he is an awful speaker.

last I heard we were hunting down Taliban and al queida peoples – what’s this crap about secure the nation? No one has said that?
He has a point about the press, but at least make accurate statements about the true intentions of the US Afghanistan policy, it was never about restoring sovereignty – that was a means to an end, the end being Taliban and Al Queida groups running rampant in a goverment-less country.

Right on Mr. Kennedy, we should not be putting our troops in harms way with out a real plan and direction. Yes, the Press isnt keeping the American people informed. They are a bunch of spineless cowards and can not hold a candle to the press corps of the 70s. and back. If we had this kind of gutless Press back in the 70s Nixon we never have been exposed.

Pelosi scares me …
Pelosi scares me more, way more. And yes, she along with many of the other Dem and Repub velociraptors need to be replaced with new people, regardless of their party, (Indys welcome too) who have new ideas and actually here and do what the ppl are asking for. We cannot rely on Govt to give us what we need. Because to do that we must give them what we have. (Which is too much in my book). Ppl need to really think: Look at Govt spending. Would you really want them in charge of your bank accts?

I do not agree that …
I do not agree that we need a troop presence in Iraq, Afghan or anywhere else in the middle east unless Congress decides to declare war. That said we need to bring all of our military home, end of story. There is nothing to “Win” in Afghanistan or Iraq that is worth one American military members life at this time. The worlds other countries need to learn to take care of themselves and quit depending on the US military as easy accesible cannon fodder for them to use and our Govt togive to them.

I totally agree with him about the press. What the press deems as “News worthiness” IS sad, pathetic and despicable. There are issues going on within our Govt that absolutely should be front page news. But ppl seem more interested in the Tiger Woods/ American Idol dramas so the Press distracts them with that type of garbage while the true events that can and will affect our future go on unnoticed.
